Coach Mike Bender is in year #3 after coming to the program in 2019; where he finished with a 20-1 record. Bender graduated from Emmaus High School in 2010 being a 3x District champion and team captain. He was named Lehigh Valley Player of the year in 2010 and was the MVP of the conference. Mike played Division 1 lacrosse at the University of Maryland where he appeared in two final fours’ and one national championship in 2015. Upon graduation, Bender became the Director of the HEADstrong Lacrosse Club in the Lehigh Valley. During that time, he also started his coaching career internationally, becoming the head assistant coach for the Hong Kong u-19 and Men’s National Team. Before Parkland, Bender was the assistant at Southern Lehigh ('17, '18) and Emmaus (16'). He most recently got drafted to play professional lacrosse fort the MLL Hammerheads in Connecticut.
Coach Arezzi joined the Parkland staff in 2021 as an assistant coach. Before coming to Parkland, he spent 6 years as the Head Coach at Pleasant Valley High School and 2 years as an assistant coach at Liberty High School. Coach Arezzi has also coached in several notable club programs over the past 10 years preparing high school and youth athletes for the next level in their lacrosse career.
COACH ANDREWS RETURNS TO THE BOYS’ LACROSSE TEAM FOR HIS 4TH YEAR; AFTER SERVING AS AN ASSISTANT COACH FOR THE PARKLAND GIRLS’ LACROSSE TEAM FOR 3 YEARS. A PARKLAND HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI (’06), COACH ANDREWS PLAYED LACROSSE AND WAS NAMED A PVLL ALL-STAR DURING HIS HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. HE EARNED HIS BACHELOR’S DEGREE FROM WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY WHERE HE PLAYED CLUB LACROSSE. COACH ANDREWS IS CURRENTLY A PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER AT PARKLAND HIGH SCHOOL
Errol Wilson played Division 1 lacrosse and was a four-year letter winner at Stony Brook University. He began coaching in the Ivy-League as an assistant coach for Brown for four seasons (2007-10). After a short stint at Rutgers, he has most recently been the associate head coach at Lehigh University for seven seasons. Wilson helped lead the Mountain Hawks to new heights, including a school-record 14 wins, a program record nine-game winning streak and its highest-ever national ranking (No. 4) along with its first Patriot League Tournament Title and NCAA Tournament appearance.
Justin Fuhrman graduated from Hempfield High School (‘09) in Lancaster, PA where he was a three year varsity player. He attended Penn State and majored in Broadcast Journalism and played club lacrosse before walking on the varsity for Coach Tambroni during the winter of 2010. Fuhrman also served as the assistant for Cumberland Valley for the 15’ and 16’ seasons where the team went on a state semi-final run.
Tom Friedman graduated from Monroe Woodbury High school in Monroe, NY in 2014 where he was a four year varsity player and two year captain. Coach Friedman went on the win one conference championship his senior year and was recognized as first team all-conference mid-fielder. Coach Friedman went to DeSales University(’18) and received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and finishing his master’s degree in investigative forensics this April. When at DeSales, coach Friedman was a four year varsity athlete. Coach Friedman has coached for Hudson Valley Express(’18) and Headstrong(’19) travel clubs. This will be Coach Friedman’s first year at Parkland High School.
